I am a designer & a dreamer with a heart for people. I love light & dreamy imagery and I am a believer in the printed photograph. I cherish motherhood completely-the easy and the hard, and I adore my little family of four. I had no idea that I wanted to become a photographer until I actually became one. Met my husband
Walked around my college town blindfolded with a random boy during freshmen welcome week. Four years later, he asked me to marry him.
Married!
Graduated, moved to Michigan and planned a wedding in 5 months flat (all before Pinterest and social media-quite impressive, I know!)
Nicole Rollin Photography was born
Shooting only in BW film!!! Other jobs included: preschool teaching, nannying and assisting my husband as youth pastors at a local church.
Pregnant!
After 4 years of infertility-we were surprised with our first pregnancy (found out in the airport while traveling to Israel).
Living the dream!
Quit all other jobs and launched my photography business full time!!! (Hello to working from home!)

My infertility struggle
My husband and I struggled with infertility for four years prior to being blessed with our son & daughter! And although we were never able to have any more-our children have so much personality, we haven’t even had time to dwell on it!

My life is about much more than taking beautiful images. My purpose is to connect with people and walk besides them on this amazing journey called life. And ultimately, to encourage everyone I meet to truly enjoy this one life we are all given…it is such a gift!
I also believe that sharing one’s story & hardships and how God has brought us through them can bring life & healing to another person. It assures us all that we are not alone in these struggles...especially when everything about everyone else seems so perfect on Instagram!!!
So here are a few of my hard times that I have overcome with God's strength...I grew up in a divorced home; I was in a verbally abusive relationship as a young adult for years; I’ve walked through a season when I thought I would lose my husband to a horrible illness; I’ve struggled with infertility; and then struggled with feeling that I "lost" myself after having those very children I prayed so hard for!
It’s only of late, twenty years after graduating High School, (gasp!) that I have started to feel fully confident in myself, my body, my life and my purpose...although I know I have so much more to learn!
My husband and I started City Light in 2015 to offer a life-giving church for real people, with real hardship. We exist to help people know God personally, find freedom from their past through life-giving relationships, discover their God-given purpose & gifts and then walk in them!
So...If I can bless you with cherished photographs of your family that you can enjoy on your walls throughout the every day of life…my job as photographer is complete.
But if I can offer a listening ear to your hardships and assure you that you are not alone...if I can offer you a loving church family and ultimately, lead you to a life-giving relationship with Jesus...then I am truly fulfilling my purpose!
